Revisiting a Garden: A Spring Bulb Planting Adventure

Last week, I had the pleasure of returning to a garden I’d designed earlier this year. It was lovely to see how the space had transformed since the initial landscaping and planting. The client, thrilled with the results, had invited me back to add the finishing touch: a beautiful display of spring bulbs.

A Garden Transformed
When I first visited the site, it was a blank canvas.

Together with the client, we developed a vision for an inviting outdoor space. The design incorporated a harmonious blend of shrubs, perennials, and hardscape elements. After the landscaping team completed their work, I planted a selection of shrubs and perennials to create a fairly low maintenance and colourful garden.

The Joy of Spring Bulbs
Now, it was time to enhance the garden’s appeal even further with the addition of spring bulbs. Bulbs offer a burst of colour and fragrance when the garden is still emerging from its winter slumber. As I carefully planted narcissus, alliums, and anemones, I couldn’t help but imagine the stunning display that would greet the client and his guests next spring.

Client and Visitor Delight
The client’s enthusiasm for the garden was infectious. He shared stories of how his friends and family had complimented the space and how it had become their favourite place to relax and entertain. It was heartwarming to hear how the garden had positively impacted his life.

A Rewarding Experience
Revisiting the garden was a reminder of the joy and satisfaction that comes from creating beautiful outdoor spaces. Seeing the client’s happiness and the positive impact the garden had on his life made the entire process worthwhile. I’m already looking forward to returning next spring to admire the Spring bulbs and the vibrant garden that has become a cherished part of his home.
