After a complete garden make over, l struggled to put my planting ideas down in to a plan. So, we contacted Julie.

Julie listened to my ideas and developed them into what I had in mind. In many cases offering advice on plants based on her own experiences and took in to consideration cost, location, height and all year-round appeal.

Her plans were clear and detailed, with options built in to her presentation, for discussion.

We have a small garden behind a terraced house in Brighton and as a keen lover of sunshine and light was desperate to change my old dull garden for one with light and colour and a more Mediterranean theme.

I am delighted with the design Julie created after I showed her a few photos, although none exact, of what I had in mind. She captured my preferences exactly in her design and identified an excellent landscaper, Simon Scott, who turned Julie’s designs into reality.

I am delighted with the end result which has transformed our garden to my idea of a Mediterranean look, clean, bright, manageable and modern.

Knowing absolutely nothing about gardening I didn’t really have to much of an idea as to what to expect during the design process, we had a couple of things we wanted to achieve in the garden but nothing of any significance; Julie provided a clear and well structured approach to the design process, listening to the limited brief we had and then very quickly bringing ideas and suggestions to the table to end up with a design we were really pleased with.

I sit writing this after spending time pottering in the garden tidying and trimming to keep things looking tip-top as Summer turns to Autumn. This is something I would never have done in the past as we finally have a garden to be proud of. We now have an inspired layout comprising different seating and entertaining spaces, as well as colourful planting that really brings the garden to life.

The planting design was inspired – when we started the journey I just couldn’t have imagined that this aspect would turn out so well. Compared to the hard landscaping I had given this little thought, but now realise it’s so important to get right. When Julie showed me the design and the plant choices I knew that I was in safe hands. The planning scheme is designed to embrace the seasons as they change, so I’m really looking forward to watching the garden change over the coming year.

I found the design process was really thorough, from capturing the initial brief, taking measurements, producing layouts and planting plans. As the design evolved iteratively, I felt that my views were always taken on board and we were always able to discuss the implications of decisions that were made.

Julie was very good at bringing her experience to bear and often suggested new ideas to ensure that end product turned out well. Her communication was always clear and concise, conversations were always followed up by an email so we were clear on what was agreed.
